ABN receives EcoVadis gold level rating

ABN receives EcoVadis gold level rating

At ABN we continue to innovate and promote continuous improvement. Recently, we obtained the C2C certification of our products, which pushed us, even more if possible, towards the chain of companies that seek to achieve environmental, social and economic change in the environment in which they operate.
Now, we continue to make a difference, this time with the EcoVadis certification. It is a seal that qualifies the level of sustainability of companies, including the impacts that we emit as an organization in different areas.

What categories does this certification have?

EcoVadis includes impacts from four categories:

  • Environment: the aspects to be measured in this category are in operations and in business products. The consumption of energy and GHG, the care of water and biodiversity, the concern for local and accidental pollution, and the use of materials without chemical products are the criteria to measure the part of operations. On the other hand, products will take into account their use, how their useful life ends, the safety and health of the consumer and, finally, environmental services and advocacy.
  • Labor practices and human rights: this section includes the sustainability criteria related to employee health and safety, working conditions, social dialogue, and professional training and development. It also focuses on activities that can go against human rights such as child labor, human trafficking, discrimination and harassment.
  • Ethics: one of the differential aspects of EcoVadis with respect to the previous certifications obtained is the measurement of business ethics through corruption, anti-competitive practices and through the responsible management of information.
  • Sustainable purchasing: finally, the environmental and social practices of the suppliers also influence to obtain this qualification.

Our score

Following these four categories, at ABN we have achieved that our sustainability performance has been qualified with a gold-level medal. The resulting global score is 71 out of 100 points. In this way, we are part of the 5% of companies that have been rated with a score of more than 65 points. In addition,  we are among the first 1% of companies rated by EcoVadis in the plastic products manufacturing sector.

Ultimately, EcoVadis monitors sustainability in global supply chains. Using innovative technology and their expertise in sustainability, they involve companies and help them adopt sustainable practices. Once again, from ABN we emphasize the importance of continuously improving our sustainability policy to demonstrate that the basic principles of our company are in tune with sustainable development and the creation of long-term value. We are committed to redesigning the way we do things. We are committed to a clean, green and lasting future.
