ABN Pipe Systems is the ABN Group’s production plant in Medina del Campo, where they manufacture pipe systems fabricated with thermoplastic materials for the construction industry, civil works, industrial work and telecommunications. The modern installations use some of the most cutting edge technology in Europe, where the company develops highly technological and innovative products with a certified quality.

It is the first Spanish company to develop multilayer polypropylene pipe systems. The company is located in Medina del Campo, 2 km from Gomeznarro (Km. 152 on the A6 Motorway, in the direction of A Coruña), on the Medina On business park.

The production plant has been designed on a 100.000 km2 surface, of which 46.000 are selected for the production activity, divided in the following way:

- Manufacture and storage: 15000 m2
- Offices, laboratories and general services: 5000 m2
- Gardens, parking and access: 11000 m2
- External warehouse: 15000 m2

The project was undertaken by the Galician Studio ACJ Arquitectos according with the singularity of the environment, taking into account the fact that it can be seen from the A6. Depending on the direction of the traffic, the plant offers a different perspective of the site. It offers a stunning image, centered on the offices in the shape of a ship’s sails, in clear constrast with the Castillian plateau.

The process for the placement of the new factory started in 2005 with the search of a plot in Castilla Leon. Finally the location Medina del Campo was chosen, mainly because of this favourable geographic situation close to important economic centres like Madrid or Valladolid. At the same time the great road and rail communications network and the availability of usable surface were the main reasons to start the project and its possible future developments there.

ABN Group investided in the whole project a startup capital of 20 ME.
